NSC wraps up its Summer 2006 Season and your hot August nights with the regional premiere of the Off-Broadway sensation The Book of Liz. Actress Amy Sedaris ( Strangers with Candy, Sex and the City ) and bestselling author and brother David Sedaris (NPR, Naked , Me Talk Pretty One Day, Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim ) joined forces to create this wacky tale of Sister Elizabeth Donderstock who is Squeamish (read: Amish). She makes cheese balls (traditional and smoky) that sustain her entire religious community of Clusterhaven. But when Sister Elizabeth feels unappreciated among her Squeamish brethren, she decides to try her luck in the outside world. Ranked by Entertainment Weekly as two of the 25 Funniest People in America , the Sedaris siblings have created 15 crazy roles for 4 hard-working actors, including three Ukrainians with Cockney accents, two 12-stepping gay waiters, and Mr. Peanut. The Book of Liz is a sure-fire laugh-fest, directed by Producing Artistic Director Alan Patrick Kenny.
