NSC is thrilled to kick off our season early with the regional premiere of the wackiest, wildest and silliest Off-Broadway revue from New York writer Keith Thompson. Kooky Tunes has been a sell-out hit on the New York cabaret circuit since 1998, with multiple sold-out runs at famed cabaret rooms like Eighty-Eights, Don't Tell Mama's and Dillon's, and Off-Broadway at the Laurie Beechman Theatre. The show was later picked up for a live cast recording, about which Billboard Magazine raved,
“Kooky whisks listeners through a melange of comic tales and tunes, staying true to the central theme that individuality may sometimes be funny as hell, but it's also endearing and the essence of humanity. Kooky Tunes is a must-see!"
NSC is the first theatre company given rights to produce Thompson's acclaimed revue in the US, and the production will feature Producing Artistic Director Alan Patrick Kenny directing and at the piano. Kenny is no stranger to Thompson and his zany material, having previously worked together on several shows at New York University . Kooky Tunes is the first full musical production presented at the newly expanded Hamburger Mary's Bar & Grill. NSC is joining forces with Hamburger Mary's and several local LGBT organizations to present co-fundraisers at certain performances.
"Kooky Tunes is easily one of the funniest and most entertaining shows I've ever seen."

"One of the best shows I've seen in a long time."
